Battle of Hectis: finale: Sending a message to Cain

The Battle of Hectis had finally been won... My first priority now was to try to get Justice to reason and go home. She could easily let the General's take over. At least for now... My girlfriend was worried about Galen, he had become quiet and still... She told me that he only did this when he was troubled. As Justice was walking out, I saw Bruce Cain. He wanted to know about the death of his friend. Galen fess up to what he had done but his mood... Well I may not have Bruce's ability to read body language but I know when a friend, even one that is so secretive is troubled. I briefly remembered a conversation we had, Galen's words and wondered what was going on... He sighed, "there is no need.. he is dead.. made... into... nothing... The spell I used to accomplish this has been forbidden for me to use, ever.. for ... any reasons... My order are very ... They will summon me and since it has already been made clear the last time I used it that should I use it again I would be... Flayed. That is what will happen." "What is Flayed? and when did you use it before? I .." I began but he held up his hand. he spoke softly, "For revenge I hunted down the Technomages that betrayed us.. me and killed my .... my love... There was three of them, one in particular... but I shall not speak of this any further... nor shall you.. to no one.." Galen became sullen and walked away... Flayed.. it didn't sound good but I gave my word I would speak of it... So I decided not to speak of it... Galen said nothing about writing about it... I slipped a capsule with a written message to Bruce Cain... with his skills in reading body language I hoped he would figure things out... Galen returned us and mom was happy...
